Welcome to The Old King’s Head

The Old King’s Head is a sixteenth century Inn nestled in the beautiful market town of Broughton-in-Furness. The town is situated on the South Western Peninsula of the Lake District and is a ten-minute drive from the stunning Duddon Valley and Coniston Water. All the other southern lakes & tourist attractions are in close driving distance.

Broughton-in-Furness is a Charter Town and was bestowed this honour by Queen Elizabeth 1st. Broughton-in-Furness is a friendly town boasting a good community feel. Many walks & cycling routes start and finish here.

We didn't stay in this hotel but ate here 3 times on our long weekend away and can honestly say, each meal was perfect! The breakfast is georgeous and the smoked salmon was amazing. The owners are so friendly and nothing too much trouble and we look forward to booking a weekend there in the future. Lovely beer garden and our dog loved it as it was secure. Steak was phenomenal, cooked exactly to my request of medium rare. Chicken nuggets was banging as well, also great falafel!!
Got a decent line up of beers on the tap
Also if you like ale there’s a few, ale is not my cup of tea so I am not a connoisseur but looks good nonetheless!!
Definitely would recommend and come again

Our Food

Our team of Chefs are dedicated in their job and local produce is sourced wherever possible, being in one of the most abundant areas in the country, we have access to some of the most mouth-watering produce. We offer a Gastro Pub style menu with a specials board to show their diverse talents. We cater for parties of two, up to pre-booked parties of forty (larger parties can be accommodated depending on Menu choice & type of function).
